Job summary

Technip Energies in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Material & Corrosion Engineer for a fixed-term position. You will liaise with project teams on corrosion and metallurgy activities, provide expert input, and contribute to deliverables for offshore and onshore facilities.

Responsibilities include interpreting contract requirements, ensuring design outputs meet specifications, and supporting proposal and bid evaluation across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Recognized degree in Materials Engineering.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Material & Corrosion Engineering for oil and gas and petrochemical EPC projects.

  • Ensure high-quality design output per client specifications and technical requirements.
  • Produce agreed deliverables according to project schedule.
  • Provide expert advice and technical input on metallurgy and corrosion issues to support project execution.
  • Review deliverables and support regional office concerning Metallurgy & Corrosion issues.

Material & Corrosion Engineer / Senior Material & Corrosion Engineer, Kuala Lumpur. Successful candidates will be offered a fixed‑term of employment. Starting date: Immediately.

Role Overview

He/She liaises with the Project Team for all activities related to corrosion & metallurgy at project level and administration matters.


Key Responsibilities


  • Read and understand contract requirements and scope of work for projects.

  • Ensure high‑quality design output per client specifications and technical requirements.

  • Produce agreed deliverables according to project schedule.

  • Participate in internal/client meetings at project level.

  • Provide expert advice and technical input on metallurgy and corrosion issues to support project execution.

  • Perform CO2 corrosion evaluation using agreed tools (e.g., CORPLUS, NORSOK M506, Hydrocorr, ECE).

  • Prepare corrosion assessment report and material selection for process and utility piping and equipment for offshore and onshore facilities.



  • Prepare deliverables such as:


    • Material Selection & Corrosion Control Report

    • Material Selection & Corrosion Control Philosophy / Corrosion Design Basis Memorandum (CDBM)

    • Internal Corrosion Monitoring Specification

    • Protective Coating and Painting Specification

    • Insulation (Thermal & Cold) insulation specification

    • Cathodic protection


  • Review/Check deliverables prepared by Metallurgy & Corrosion Engineer to ensure quality.

  • Provide technical support in proposal and bid evaluation across disciplines.

  • Review vendor documents as required.

  • Perform additional functions as allocated by Material & Corrosion Section Head.

  • Provide support to the regional office concerning Metallurgy & Corrosion issues.


Qualifications


  • Recognized degree in Materials Engineering.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Material & Corrosion Engineering for oil and gas and petrochemical (EPC projects).


Nice to Have


  • Corrosion management, operation and inspection experience.
