Pacific Inter-Link Sdn Bhd is seeking a Treasury Senior Executive/Assistant Manager to support the Shipping business line. This hands-on role reports to Finance Manager – Shipping with a dotted-line to the Treasury Director, Strategy & Compliance.
The position handles day-to-day treasury operations, bank administration, cash monitoring and payment coordination. For the Assistant Manager level, greater ownership of operational coordination and mentoring junior staff is expected.
The Treasury Senior Executive / Assistant Manager is a hands-on treasury operations role supporting the Shipping business line.
The position reports directly to the Finance Manager – Shipping, with a functional / dotted-line reporting relationship to the Treasury Director, Strategy & Compliance.
The role is responsible for day-to-day treasury operations, bank account and e-banking administration, cash position monitoring, payment coordination, banking documentation, treasury controls and operational reporting.
The position is expected to manage routine treasury activities independently within approved procedures and delegated authority, while escalating material banking, control or liquidity matters through the appropriate reporting lines.
For the Assistant Manager level, the role will also provide greater ownership of operational coordination and support to junior team members where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor daily bank balances and available cash across all operating bank accounts and maintain accurate daily treasury cash positions with timely visibility of available balances to the Finance Manager – Shipping.
Coordinate approved operational payment requirements and inter-account transfers within established authorization limits.
Monitor banking cut-off times, transaction status and rejected / returned bank transactions, and coordinate resolution with the bank and relevant business teams.
Manage day-to-day operational communication with banks on treasury-related matters, including bank account opening and closure, KYC updates, signatory changes and bank mandates.
Administer online banking access, user profiles, tokens, authorization matrices and related control documentation.
Maintain a complete and up-to-date bank account register, signatory list, mandate records and e-banking access records.
Coordinate the treasury component of approved operational payments in accordance with company approval procedures and banking controls.
Validate treasury-related payment information including bank details, value date, currency, bank route and payment method before bank execution.
Coordinate treasury requirements arising from vessel operations, voyages, ports, bunker, agency, charter and other shipping-related activities.
Prepare accurate and timely operational treasury reports covering bank balances, cash positions, payment status and banking issues.
About You
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Treasury, Economics, Business Administration or a related business field
Typically 4-7 years of relevant experience in corporate treasury, treasury operations, cash management or banking operations
Hands-on experience in treasury operations, daily bank balance monitoring, cash positioning, bank account administration, payment banking workflows and online banking platforms is essential
Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyse project-specific cash flows or project cash flow models is required
Working knowledge of SAP is required, with the ability to use SAP for treasury-related transaction support, data extraction, reporting and workflow follow-up
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with online banking platforms, SAP and structured treasury trackers / reporting tools
Practical experience with KYC, bank mandates, authorised signatories, user-access administration and banking documentation is preferred
Experience in a group, multinational or multi-entity environment is an advantage
Shipping, maritime, trading, logistics or related industry exposure is preferred but not mandatory
Treasury or banking qualifications such as CTP, ACT or equivalent are an advantage but not a prerequisite
