Transport Operations Specialist Job Description

1. Propose the best international transport scenarios considering global costs, and validate & prepare operational backup solutions.
2. Negotiate optimal rates and challenge costs with partners in local and global transport tenders.
3. Ensure all transport lanes are referenced in transport systems with appropriate commitments.
4. Promote local autonomy among all transport stakeholders through collaborative actions.
5. Establish operational processes for new flows (destinations, products, etc.).
6. Lead the Quality, Metrics, and Reliability (QMR) with Sea Partners to ensure service levels, lead times, costs, and equipment quality.
7. Oversee monthly activity pilots for the next three months to ensure space protection and equipment needs, with online access for the procurement department.
8. Benchmark the transport market and stay informed on transport topics.
9. Manage economic responsibilities including allocation, equipment types, and stuffing rates to ensure optimal cost/CBM.
10. Ensure supply chain integrity and order management to ship on time, avoiding delays or early shipments.
11. Train staff and ensure compliance with company requirements.
12. Monitor activity through comprehensive reporting and analysis of carrier, order, and vendor management.
13. Handle import/export documentation, including e-commerce activities.
14. Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure timely clearance and 100% customs compliance.
15. Alert stakeholders to regulatory changes affecting transport operations.
16. Conduct periodic self-assessments (audits) to ensure business unit compliance.
17. Support operations teams in resolving blockages or implementing process changes.
18. Collaborate with IT teams to develop and improve IT tools for transport and customs activities.
19. Create task forces to address and resolve transport-related issues.
20. Maintain a global customs network within group companies to share best practices and knowledge.
21. Establish and maintain SOPs related to import, export, and customs activities.
22. Manage internal and external projects related to transport operations.
