We are looking for a capable and proactive Translator cum Personal Assistant (PA) to support the Company Director in daily operations, particularly within a construction project environment. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in the construction or engineering field, with a strong understanding of site operations, project documentation, and coordination. Moderate language ability in Mandarin and English is sufficient, with a greater emphasis placed on practical industry knowledge and effective execution of tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project & Site Coordination:
- Assist the Director in monitoring daily construction progress and site matters.
- Coordinate between the Director, site team, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure smooth communication and task execution.
- Follow up on work progress reports, meeting outcomes, and deadlines.
- Translation & Interpretation (Basic to Moderate):
- Provide basic translation and interpretation between Mandarin, English, and/or Bahasa Malaysia during meetings or document preparation.
- Translate key project documents such as work orders, site instructions, and brief reports when required.
- Personal & Administrative Assistance:
- Organize the Director’s schedule, including meetings, travel, and site visits.
- Assist in preparing reports, minutes, letters, and other official documents as required.
- Maintain proper filing of documents and ensure administrative support is in place.
- Liaison & Support:
- Act as a liaison between the Director and government agencies, project stakeholders, or local authorities as needed.
- Accompany the Director for meetings, inspections, and official engagements when required.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in construction, civil engineering, or site-based roles. Prior PA or coordinator experience is an added advantage.
- Language: Able to communicate in basic to moderate Mandarin and English; fluency not required but must be functional for work use.
- Education: Diploma or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Admin, or related fields.
- Skills:
- Good understanding of construction workflows and terminology.
- Strong coordination and follow-up abilities.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word).
- Able to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
- Preferred Attributes:
- Familiar with CIDB, JKKP, or Malaysian construction compliance processes.
- Ability to read construction drawings or plans is an advantage.
- Willing to work on-site or travel for project needs.
