Job summary

A leading company in the food service industry is seeking a Training Manager to enhance their training and development programs. The role involves managing training systems, assessing effectiveness, and ensuring that employees are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. The ideal candidate will possess leadership and coaching skills, a diploma in a related field, and a passion for fostering a quality learning environment.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ experience in restaurant management in a similar industry.
  • Ability to work long hours and flexible to travel when required.
  • Experience in food and beverage management is advantageous.

This role will drive organization effectiveness through Managing Talents, Building People Capability, Developing Training & Certification and Create Meaningful Engagement to provide and support Operations Excellence.

Responsibilities:

Execution of training systems, assessing, and monitoring the effectiveness of the programs.

Culture – provide employees with a sense of organizational culture (Guiding Principle & YUM related culture program).

Manage learning continuity and development training program that link to business outcomes.

Create material tailored to the needs of employees and store team based on the direction provided by the Brand Head.

Provide practical ideas to increase the effectiveness of training modules with references to needs.

Look for opportunities to continuously improve quality of trainings and enable a culture of quality improvement within the team.

Supporting Field Training Team

1. Ensure all Training Materials requests are ready to support Restaurant Operations training needs.

2. Ensure Product Training classes are conducted to support build knowledge and skill of restaurant team.

Manage Discipline in Processes

1. To ensure all Training Planning and Execution meets the agreed timeline

2. To ensure strict and diligent follow up with intensity with Training team commitment.

Team Member Training

1. Coordinate course running materials.

2. Onboarding & orientation.

3. Sectional classroom training.

4. Calibrate instore execution through (TMTS) & suggest improvements.

5. Certify buddy trainers.

6. Conduct back-to-basic sessions as refresher course.

Management Training

1. SMP (Classroom Training & in-store Calibration)

2. Track performance of trainees.

4. Manage all training paperwork for signoffs and promotions.

New Product Rollout

1. Coordinate district / area Train-The-Trainer.

2. Support Operations Team for smooth execution of new promotions.

Team Support

1. Support new store opening.

2. Partake actively in team’s activity.

3. Lead projects as part of target KPI.

Budget Tracking and Control

1. Producing monthly training charges.

2. Track training budget and expenses.

Manage Relationship and Maintain Effective Communication with Stakeholders

1. Internal: Market Manager, Operations Manager, Area Manager, Restaurant General Manager - RGM,

Restaurant Team, Field HR, other functional units

2. External: Yum, external partners and service providers

Requirements:

Leadership skill – agility & adaptability, innovation & creativity, decision-making, innovation, employee motivation, conflict management, negotiation skills.

Coaching skills.

Minimum requirement – Diploma in related course of study.

Certified HRD Trainer.

At least above 3 years’ experiences in restaurant management in similar industry.

Advanced user of Microsoft Office Program. Advanced certification in computer system will be an advantage.

Willing to work long hour during peak season to meet tight deadline.

Flexible to travel when required.

Able to work on weekends and Public Holidays when required.
