The Training & Development Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing effective training programs aligned with the university’s academic and business objectives. This includes managing MQA- training, non-MQA internal development programs, and external training services for business development and revenue generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- MQA-Accredited Training Programs
- Oversee planning, delivery, and evaluation of MQA-related staff and academic development training.
- Ensure training modules align with MQA standards and contribute to quality enhancement.
- Collaborate with academic departments to identify gaps and compliance requirements.
- Manage documentation and reporting for MQA audit readiness.
- Non-MQA Internal Training
- Design and implement soft skills, leadership, and administrative development programs for academic and non-academic staff.
- Coordinate onboarding and continuous development training tailored to staff needs.
- Utilize feedback and performance evaluations to refine training effectiveness.
- Work closely with department heads to identify key competencies for professional growth.
- External Training for Business Development
- Develop and deliver training programs for corporate clients, government agencies, and external partners.
- Identify market demands and design customized workshops, short courses, and certifications.
- Act as Business Development to promote training services as a revenue-generating unit.
- Build strategic partnerships with industry players for collaborative training ventures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in training and development, preferably within the higher education or corporate training sector.
- Proven track record in training business development, including managing outsource training programs and securing external training contracts or partnerships.
- Experience in managing MQA-accredited and non-MQA training programs is an added advantage.
- Strong background in learning and development strategy, curriculum design, and training effectiveness evaluation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify new training opportunities and convert leads into business.
- Leadership capability to manage training teams and coordinate multiple projects.
- Familiarity with government funding schemes, HRD Corp claims, and training grant applications.
