Job Title: Train Manager at Eastern & Oriental Express

As a Train Manager at Eastern & Oriental Express, a Belmond Train, you will support train operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of train services. This role involves overseeing onboard staff, ensuring punctual departures and arrivals, managing service disruptions, and maintaining high standards of safety, service, and compliance with railway regulations. You will also coordinate training programs, manage team performance, and work closely with senior management to enhance organizational culture and employee satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
  2. Assist the Senior Train Manager in overseeing all aspects of train operations, including scheduling, staff management, and logistics to ensure a seamless and punctual journey.
  3. Recruit, train, and manage a team of service professionals, such as stewards, chefs, and attendants, ensuring top-quality service delivery. Conduct regular team assessments to meet all KPI metrics.
  4. Ensure the safety and security of passengers, crew, and the train. Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  5. Coordinate onboard dining services with the culinary team to provide a fine dining experience.
  6. Manage onboard amenities and services, including entertainment, spa services, and other luxury offerings.
  7. Maintain the train's condition, ensuring sleeping compartments and public areas are clean and well-maintained.
  8. Enhance passenger experience through personalized services, addressing concerns, and managing special requests.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in luxury hospitality or hotel management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of LQA standards and luxury service.
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality software.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Ideal Candidate:

Warm, genuine, passionate about travel and discovery, with excellent storytelling skills and a positive attitude. Multilingual abilities, especially in English and Chinese, are required; additional languages are a plus. International exposure is valued. Experience in hospitality is beneficial but not mandatory.
