Job summary

Masimo is seeking a Trade Compliance Officer for our Pasir Gudang Johor facility. This full-time role focuses on managing trade documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and maintaining adherence to international trade laws to support our import/export operations.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in related fields and 3+ years of experience in trade compliance, with strong HS coding knowledge and proficiency in MS Office. Bahasa Malaysia is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Customs and Excise, Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in import/export operations, customs clearance or trade compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian customs regulations, ASEAN trade agreements and international trade procedures.
• Proficiency in Harmonized System (HS) coding and tariff classification.
• Experience with customs documentation and compliance systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with medical device or pharmaceutical import/export regulations is preferred.
• Knowledge of international logistics and supply chain management is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit accurate import and export documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, certificates of origin and customs declarations.
• Ensure all shipments comply with relevant customs regulations, tariff classifications and trade laws in Malaysia and destination countries.
• Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders and logistics partners to facilitate smooth clearance of goods.
• Monitor changes in trade regulations, tariffs and import/export requirements, and communicate updates to relevant departments.
• Maintain detailed records of all import and export transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
• Classify products according to the Harmonized System (HS) codes and ensure correct tariff assessments.
• Investigate and resolve customs issues, discrepancies or delays in shipment clearance.
• Coordinate with procurement, logistics and finance teams to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods.
• Prepare reports on trade compliance metrics and provide recommendations for process improvements.
• Support internal and external audits related to import/export operations and trade compliance.

About the role

We are seeking a Trade Compliance Officer to join our team at our Pasir Gudang Johor facility.
