Essential Functions/ Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day Import and Export Trade Compliance processes.
- Certify Sudden Service is the team’s moto by delivering timely responses and work.
- Ensure adherence to Global Import/Export regulations, including OFAC, EAR, ITAR, FCC, and other global government agencies in all activities.
- Determine product classifications for all imported/exported products.
- Train and communicate with all relevant departments through the Trade Compliance Ambassador program to promote compliance with global trade regulations companywide.
- Engage with external customers in trade compliance matters as necessary.
- Work closely with primary transportation carriers and approved brokers.
- Preform Broker reviews and calls as necessary.
- Support screening trade partners against denied parties lists to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate and manage projects with other areas of the business to meet trade requirements.
- Assist in developing and maintaining trade compliance policies and procedures, and standardizing
- Initiate and coordinate training for new associates with the training department.
- Work in conjunction with the training team to ensure training procedures and work instructions are updated and maintained as needed.
- Oversee Corporate Compliance process audits of Trade Compliance functions.
- Seek innovative and creative process improvement opportunities in trade compliance.

Required Experience
- 4+ Years’ Experience in Customs & Trade Compliance, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related regulatory field.
- Knowledge of import/export customs compliance with the ability to interpret and analyze regulations independently.
- Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate various day-to-day activities simultaneously.
- Must be analytically inclined.
- Self-starter that’s able to perform duties with little supervision, willing to make decisions, and has proven leadership skills.
- History of working with various government agencies (CBP, BIS, OFAC, etc.).
- A history of demonstrating successful problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Possess a Growth Mind Set
- Having a “sense of urgency” required.
- Highly skilled in research and investigative techniques.
- Logistics/transportation experience is an advantage.
- Trade Certifications (LCB, CCS, CES, and/or CCLS) is an advantage.
- Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes, and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
