Celestica is seeking an export compliance specialist in Kulim, Malaysia. The role involves overseeing compliance for controlled goods, ensuring adherence to regulations, and training employees. Candidates must hold a relevant bachelor's degree and possess strong communication skills.

Function as local expert and on the ground resource for export control goods and compliance matters. Note that export/controlled goods in this sense refers to military and dual- use government regulated technologies, often found, but not exclusively in the aerospace and defence and in the high-performance computing and telecommunications fields.
Represent the first line of compliance in Celestica export/controlled goods compliance for review and decision.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the export/ controlled goods laws and regulations applicable to the activities of the sites. These will include but are not limited to the new Malaysia Strategic Trade Act 2010 the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) ,the US Export Administration Regulations and the European Union Council Regulation
Review regulations updates and changes and disseminate to employees and awareness
Conduct or oversee the employee export/controlled goods control training and awareness.
Provide assistance in classification of product/approval to ship
Review and approve technical data releases (internally or externally to site) for controlled programs/ product: to vendor business partners or for sales presentations trade shows and training purposes.
Coordinate with GLTC and apply for export licenses agreement etc through national government authorities
Ensure proper and timely implementation of all export approval and technology transfer requirement including requirement imposed as a contain of an export license approval
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Mechanical engineering, Business Administration or related subjects.
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Must be self-directed and work under minimal supervisor
Preferably should have an expert compliance customs contracts or legal background
Should have a position of maturity and standing in the organization
