Job summary

You will partner with MITI STS to ensure export controls are robust while enabling scalable permit processes for AI server technologies. The role combines regulatory excellence, stakeholder engagement, and due diligence across sales and delivery teams, with regional travel locally and regionally.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in trade compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of Malaysia's Strategic Trade Act 2010 (STA) and ICP registration.
• Experience using DagangNet (eSTA/ePermit) for strategic trade filings.
• Willingness to travel locally and regionally for site inspections and verification.
• Familiarity with AI servers, NVIDIA GPUs, or dual-use tech classifications.

Responsibilities

• Oversee eSTA permit applications through DagangNet and ensure compliant export declarations.
• Develop and maintain customer screening, KYC, end-user validation, and export due diligence frameworks.

About the Role

Mills Recruitment is partnering with a fast-growing AI infrastructure and server solutions provider, to hire a Trade Compliance Program Manager. This role will lead strategic trade compliance, export control governance, and the implementation of the company's Internal Compliance Program (ICP), supporting the global delivery of AI-optimised server and data centre solutions.

The Challenge

Lead the establishment of the company's Internal Compliance Program (ICP) under Malaysia's Strategic Trade Act 2010 (STA), ensuring export compliance while enabling a transition from single-use permits to Bulk and Multiple-Use Export Permits.

The Opportunity

Take ownership as the nominated compliance lead, working closely with MITI Strategic Trade Secretariat (STS), driving regulatory excellence, strengthening customer due diligence processes, and supporting the secure export of cutting-edge AI server technologies.
