About the job

The Philippine Trade and Investment Center- Kuala Lumpur (PTIC-KL), an attached office of the Philippine Embassy in Malaysia is now accepting applications for the position of Trade Assistant. A competitive salary package will be offered, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Remuneration details will be discussed during the interview.

Job Description:

The Trade Assistant will support the Commercial Counsellor in implementing trade and investment promotion programs and commercial policy initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting trade and investment promotion programs and activities;
  • Conducting market research and assisting in the preparation of business reports;
  • Drafting responses to written, phone, and in-person inquiries from businesses, organizations, and partner agencies;
  • Receiving and assisting walk-in visitors;
  • Disseminating informational materials and invitations to trade/investment-related events;
  • Coordinating with Malaysian and Philippine stakeholders from both the public and private sectors;
  • Assisting in the organization of events, trade missions, and business matching activities;
  • Managing and maintaining the office filing and documentation systems;
  • Performing administrative and logistical duties;
  • Carrying out other duties as may be assigned by the Commercial Counsellor, consistent with the PTIC’s mandate.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Relations, Communications, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; professional language proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Filipino language is a plus
  • Excellent public relations and business writing skills (e.g., press releases, reports, promotional content)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital workplace tools
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask
  • Experience in trade, investment promotion, research, or embassy/consular work is an advantage
  • Must have valid work rights in Malaysia
