Tool Engineer

Join our dynamic engineering team as a Tool Engineer who is passionate about improving quality through smart productivity solutions. In this role, you’ll create and maintain internal tools that supercharge our QA workflows and reporting. Whether you're an experienced engineer ready for broader responsibilities, or a senior candidate who can influence tool strategy across titles, this role flexes with your expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain custom tools and solutions that enhance QA productivity and efficiency.
  • Partner with Product Owners to clarify customer needs and translate them into effective solutions.
  • Demo prototypes and in-progress tools to stakeholders, incorporating feedback in iterative cycles.
  • Ensure that tool outputs support accurate data reporting on availability, utilization, and QA metrics.
  • Shadow QA teams to identify process bottlenecks and propose technical mitigations.
  • Act as a point of contact for toolset status across titles and locations.
  • Guide junior engineers and advocate for engineering best practices in tool development.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years' experience in software engineering using C# or Java.
  • Experience with SQL or other relational databases (querying, reporting, and maintenance).
  • Proficient in both front-end and back-end web development.
  • Excellent understanding of computers, Windows OS, and networked environments.
  • Strong analytical thinker with initiative and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Autonomous, self-driven, and capable of handling multiple priorities.
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding of QA workflows and test automation.
  • Passion for the gaming industry and continuous improvement of player experiences.
