Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Malaysia is seeking a Tool Design Engineer to develop fasteners and tooling concepts for manufacturing and product design.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design for manufacturing, apply APQP/PPAP and IATF 16949 standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in a global, innovative environment. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, strong experience with fasteners, and proficiency in AutoCAD 2021 and Creo.

Qualificações

• Experience in design engineering from fastener or metal forming industries.
• Able to design structural blind rivets and threaded fasteners (bolts/nuts).
• Knowledge of forging and secondary process machines; tool design & product design.
• Ensures first-time-right development of fasteners.
• Optimizes process flow for DFM updates in fastener development.
• Identifies indigenous tool manufacturers to optimize tool life and cost.
• Familiar with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, IATF 16949 and international fastener standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2021 and 3D software (Creo preferred).
• Willing to undertake ad-hoc duties and participate in job rotation.

As the Tool Design Engineer, Specifically, you will possess following skillset:

• Exposure in Design Engineering preferably from Fastener Industry or metal forming industry.


• Able to design structural blind rivets as well as threaded fasteners (Bolts and Nuts)


• Good knowledge in forging, secondary process machines, Tool design & Product designs.


• “First time right” while developing Fasteners.


• Optimizing process flow while developing Fastener ensures Design for Manufacturing updates.


• Identifying proper Indigenous tool manufacturer of Fasteners to Optimizing tool life and cost.


• Good exposure in tech review, both design and joint application perspective.


• Follow Initial protocols strictly & bring in strong technical flair and Standards knowledge.


• Good knowledge in APQP, PPAP and FMEA, IATF 16949, Fastener international Standards.


• Good knowledge in Auto Cad 2021 and any other 3D software (Creo preferable).


• Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned and job rotation.

• Ability to go hands on and ready to wet the hands on the job.
