Job summary

Lam Research is seeking a Test Engineer to design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing in a hybrid work setting. As a Test Engineer at Lam, you'll design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing, improving quality and reducing cycle time. You'll perform diagnostic tests, design test features and equipment, and create detailed specifications for new products. What you’ll do

• Experience with vacuum, pressure, Radio Frequency (RF) Power delivery and gas delivery systems.
• Works cross functionally with design engineering and the pilot group for new product development.
• Ensures PDR / NSR deliverables are in place including test fixtures, test procedures, test specifications, and control charts.
• Conducts validation on all new test software and fixtures.
• Has a working knowledge of SAP functions for manufacturing.
• Defines, designs, documents, builds, calibrates, troubleshoots, and supports all manufacturing test fixtures.
• Software skills to create / modify manufacturing’s test scripts.
• Improves product quality through test first pass yield and trend data. Analyzes factory non-conformances and field escalations for root cause and corrective action.
• Resolves test issues cross functionally with Suppliers, Supplier Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, and Design Engineering.
• Presentation skills to present test fixture designs, test processes or spec changes at engineering design reviews.
• Defines and implements metrics to lead test process improvements

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in Test Engineering/Development environment with in-depth knowledge of C#, Python or other scripting languages.
• Technical writing skills to communicate and document designs and procedures Excellent verbal & written communication skills with proven track record in managing technical projects.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and proficient in electrical circuit testing & troubleshooting.
• Experience in Engineering Change Management Process. Statistical Process Control (SPC) understanding and application experience

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of Semiconductor equipment especially on test methodologies.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in English.
• Statistical analysis skills including statistical process control and data analysis used in production setting.
• Knowledge in programming languages.
• Proven stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders or customers in technical matters.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
