Job summary

Lam Research Kulim is seeking a Test Engineer to design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing, enhancing quality and reducing cycle time. You will define test fixtures, software validation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver robust test systems.

You will work with Python scripting and SAP manufacturing knowledge, contributing to root-cause analyses, process improvements, and documentation for new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Experience in Test Engineering/Development with knowledge of C#, Python or other scripting languages.
• Technical writing to document designs and procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication with project management experience.
• Ability to solve complex problems and probe electrical circuit testing & troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing.
• Develop test fixtures, test procedures and specifications; manage control charts.
• Validate new test software and fixtures.
• Collaborate with design engineering, pilot group and suppliers to resolve test issues.
• Present test fixture designs and processes at design reviews.

The group you’ll be a part of Manufacturing Test Engineering in Lam Research Kulim

As a Test Engineer at Lam, you'll design and implement efficient testing methods for product development and manufacturing, improving quality and reducing cycle time. You'll perform diagnostic tests, design test features and equipment, and create detailed specifications for new products. Your strategic planning of labor, schedules, and equipment ensures effective testing operations. Join us in shaping the future of precision and reliability at Lam.

What You’ll Do

• Experience with vacuum, pressure, Radio Frequency (RF) Power delivery and gas delivery systems
• Works cross functionally with design engineering and the pilot group for new product development
• Ensures PDR / NSR deliverables are in place including test fixtures, test procedures, test specifications, and control charts
• Conducts validation on all new test software and fixtures
• Has a working knowledge of SAP functions for manufacturing
• Defines, designs, documents, builds, calibrates, troubleshoots, and supports all manufacturing test fixtures
• Software skills to create / modify manufacturing’s test scripts. Preferred coding skills in Python.
• Improves product quality through test first pass yield and trend data. Analyzes factory non-conformances and field escalations for root cause and corrective action
• Resolves test issues cross functionally with Suppliers, Supplier Engineering, Pilot Manufacturing, and Design Engineering
• Presentation skills to present test fixture designs, test processes or spec changes at engineering design reviews
• Defines and implements metrics to lead test process improvements

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in Test Engineering/Development environment with in-depth knowledge of C#, Python or other scripting languages.
• Technical writing skills to communicate and document designs and procedures
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills with proven track record in managing technical projects.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and proficient in electrical circuit testing & troubleshooting.
• Experience in Engineering Change Management Process.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) understanding and application experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Semiconductor equipment especially on test methodologies.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in English.
• Statistical analysis skills including statistical process control and data analysis used in production setting.
• Knowledge in programming languages.
• Proven stakeholder management skills, with ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders or customers in technical matters.
