Flextronics - The Flex Company in Malaysia is seeking a Test Engineer to direct and coordinate electronic engineering testing activities. You will work under the Test Engineering Manager to calibrate instruments, collect test data, and oversee test processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and about four years of experience in high-tech electronics test engineering. On-site work with medical/dental benefits provided.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates electronic engineering testing activities and test control apparatus/equipment, or software and systems testing.
• Interfaces with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions or data issues.
• Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for engineering and management audiences.
• Develops or uses software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.
• Trains floor staff on test hardware/software and problem solving techniques.
• Resolves test yield problems by root cause analysis and coordinating corrective actions.
• Performs and supports equipment verification and integration in production.
• Creates and maintains process documentation.
• Searches for new technologies or procedures in the test sector.
• Determines test conditions and sequencing of test operations.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Test Engineer located in Flex PTP. Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager the Test Engineer role is responsible to Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices required to test, and record test data.

What a typical day looks like:

• Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in fabrication and design of testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.
• Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation or coding issues.
• Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel.
• May develops or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.
• Trains and instructs floor support, test technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, as well as problem solving techniques.
• Resolves test yield problems by performing analysis of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
• Perform and support equipment verification and integration in production.
• Create and maintain process documentation.
• Actively search for new technologies or procedures in the test sector.
• Determines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.

Experience

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar field.
• Typically requires 4 years of experience in test engineering in the high technology electronics industry or related area.
