Job description

A Grid Technologies Tender Manager is responsible for focusing and overseeing the bidding process for projects related to power grids, including transmission, distribution, and renewable energy integration. This role involves managing tenders, preparing competitive proposals, and ensuring compliance with technical and commercial requirements.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning, and effective communication to deliver competitive and compliant proposals in transmission systems, distribution systems, control & protection systems, substation automation systems, and substation solutions to ensure that bids are both technically sound and commercially competitive.

How You’ll Make an Impact

1. Lead the development and submission of comprehensive bids for high-voltage substation projects, encompassing both technical and commercial aspects. Coordinate bids by analyzing RFQ requirements and engaging local and international partners to develop solutions.
2. Prepare and align tendering documents and calculations with the international team, ensuring alignment with factories on lead time and managing subcontractors during the tendering stage.
3. Support the sales team in effectively approaching potential customers and advise on the integration of Siemens Energy products and solutions.
4. Provide technical guidance in the design and implementation of substation solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
5. Engage with clients to understand their needs, present bid proposals, and address technical and commercial inquiries.
6. Prepare detailed cost estimates and analyze costs to ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality and compliance.
7. Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure bid proposals comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
8. Lead cross-functional teams in bid proposal alignment, mentor team members, and ensure all bid documentation is accurate and submitted on time. Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
• Proven at least 5 years of experience in bid management, specifically in turnkey substations solution business or related areas.
• Demonstrated ability in managing complex projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of high voltage substation solutions and equipment including substation control and protection system design, implementation, and operation.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proactive approach with a hands-on attitude.
• Fluency in English with strong communication, presentation skills, and negotiation skills. Good IT literacy (e.g., MS Office, project management software, engineering design tools).
• Willingness to travel as required by project demands.
