Job description

The Singapore Polytechnic Optometry Centre (SPOC), under the School of Chemical & Life Sciences (CLS) at Singapore Polytechnic, is a clinical training facility for students in the Diploma in Optometry (DOPT) program. SPOC provides a holistic training environment where DOPT students can develop their optometry skills through conducting comprehensive eye examinations and dispensing ophthalmic products, including spectacles and contact lenses, to the public.

The candidate will possess strong communication skills and a professional attitude, with responsibilities including managing customer feedback, addressing stakeholder inquiries, and assisting DOPT staff and students. The candidate will also guide students in basic customer service and perform administrative and front-desk duties, such as managing appointment bookings, document scanning, and converting hardcopy records to digital format for the newly implemented Digital Medical Record System.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational and administrative support for the Optometry clinical training at SPOC.
  • Perform front-desk and administrative duties at SPOC.
  • Manage appointment bookings for eye examinations at SPOC.
  • Conduct document scanning and digital conversion of hardcopy records.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including CLS, DOPT staff, students, and members of the public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with technology.
  • Willingness to work on some Saturdays.

Contract Duration: Approx. 11 months starting from October 2025
