About the Role

This position is responsible for ensuring integrity, security, compliance and efficiency of an organization’s technology systems, processes and controls in accordance with the approved AIA Group Policies. The role is crucial in mitigating risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing operational effectiveness through framework design and strategic approaches.

The assurance process involves independent review and assessment across all technology projects against mandatory standards. The role maintains the quality and integrity of products or services, ensures adherence to governance frameworks, and drives continuous improvement across the organization.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Governance Framework and Development
  • Develop and implement the Technology Governance & Assurance framework and procedures across AIA MY and related portfolios.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal best practices.
  • Regularly review and update governance processes for relevance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are clearly defined across all portfolios.
  1. Agile Delivery Governance & Assurance
  • Ensure delivery conforms to standards, policies, and agile methodologies.
  • Implement mitigation strategies and lead audits to assess delivery effectiveness.
  • Provide strategic solutions across technology platforms based on SDLC standards.
  • Act as an independent assurance team providing feedback to senior stakeholders.
  • Influence portfolio teams to adhere to enterprise standards and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to enhance practices and communication.
  1. Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and contractual obligations.
  • Identify and assess risks related to quality and governance.
  • Proactively identify non-compliance and escalate issues.
  • Monitor quality metrics and oversee security risk mitigation.
  1. IT Controls and Assurance
  • Set and enforce IT control standards.
  • Promote best practices in testing, security, and reliability.
  • Evaluate systems for security and data protection compliance.
  • Recommend improvements in IT processes and tools.
  1. Team Leadership and Collaboration
  • Lead and mentor technology teams.
  • Collaborate across functions to embed governance in project lifecycle.
  • Serve as escalation point for governance issues.
  1. Reporting & Communication
  • Provide reports on assurance and performance metrics.
  • Communicate risks and actions to management.
  • Promote transparency and accountability.
  1. Audit and Review
  • Conduct audits and collaborate with auditors.
  • Implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
  1. Technology and Tools Management
  • Select and manage governance tools.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend tools for improvement.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields; Master’s preferred.
  • 8+ years in technology risk, compliance, governance, audit.
  • 3-5 years in technical roles such as development, project management, Scrum, testing, or delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with tools like JIRA, PowerBI, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of insurance domain and industry standards is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Project management and process improvement skills.
