The Test Technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance improvement of test equipment and machines. They will also be trained to repair, maintain, and improve the stability and reliability of various stations including the Final Tester, Leak Tester, Wake-Up Tester, SMC Current Tester, etc. Test technicians must be quality-conscious, self-directed, motivated team members, eager to learn and share new knowledge.

The plant operates 24/7, requiring flexibility across all shifts to maintain standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on test-related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance such as cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and replacing consumables to ensure machine stability and reliability.
  • Document maintenance activities thoroughly using the database and communicate issues effectively to the team.
  • Identify root causes of mechanical errors, electrical issues, or process inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the team on root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and develop preventive measures.
  • Support daily machine operations, adjustments, setups, and changeovers.
  • Engage in project work individually or as part of cross-functional teams, utilizing tools for inspection, repair, and maintenance.

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology, Associate Degree, or equivalent.
  • Preferably 1 year of experience in PCBA assembly, testing, debugging, and optimizing automated assembly equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong PC skills; familiarity with industry languages like C or LabVIEW.
  • Knowledge of test plans, electronics development, PCBA production, and system interactions.
  • Electrical and software aptitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly methods, pneumatic actuators, servo motors, limit switches, robotics, etc.
  • Adherence to policies, procedures, ergonomic standards, and safety requirements.
  • Multilingual abilities (English, Malay, Mandarin) are an advantage.

Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to work all shifts and some weekends.
  • Stand for at least 75% of the shift and walk at least 50% of the shift.
