Job description

The Project CNC Machining Technician is responsible for supporting CNC machining projects from setup to completion. This includes interpreting project drawings, setting up machines, ensuring machining accuracy, and collaborating with engineers and operators to deliver high-quality components on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist project engineers with the execution of CNC machining projects, including setup, tool selection, and process optimization.
  2. Interpret technical drawings, CAD/CAM files, and machining specifications to ensure correct part production.
  3. Set up and operate CNC machines (milling, turning, EDM, etc.) according to project requirements.
  4. Support in program loading, dry runs, and first article inspections (FAI).
  5. Monitor and adjust machine parameters to maintain tight tolerances and surface finish quality.
  6. Coordinate with quality team to perform in-process and final inspections using CMM, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  7. Perform machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  8. Maintain documentation for project tracking, including machine logs, quality reports, and tooling records.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Design, QA) during prototype or custom part development.
  10. Ensure compliance with safety procedures, housekeeping (5S), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Diploma / Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Machining, Precision Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years experience in CNC machining (project or prototyping environment preferred).
