Job Description

This position is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance and repair of the physical structure, utility services, equipment, fixtures and furnishings of the hotel facilities and staff housing complex.

  • Execute both planned and unplanned maintenance programs for a wide range of systems including, but not limited to:
  • Air-conditioning and electrical systems
  • Refrigeration units
  • Fire Life Safety (FLS) equipment
  • Building maintenance encompassing furniture and fixtures, painting, parts replacement, and repairs
  • Kitchen and laundry equipment
  • Low voltage (LV) systems
  • Guest rooms, Food & Beverage (F&B) outlets, function and banquet areas
  • Front and back of house facilities
  • Plumbing and drainage systems
  • Effectively communicate with engineering management and team leaders regarding potential improvements that could enhance operational efficiency and system reliability.
  • Proactively coordinate with engineering management and team leaders to promptly report any disruptions or interruptions in service, ensuring timely resolution and minimal guest impact.
  • Consistently implement safe work practices, employ efficient maintenance methods, and adhere to proper preventative maintenance and repair protocols to sustain optimal system performance.
  • Continuously develop technical skills through structured training programs and practical hands-on experience to maintain high standards of expertise.
  • Strictly comply with all hotel and departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements at all times to ensure operational consistency and safety.

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For:

  • Trade certificate in a relevant field, such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing or building maintenance, or a minimum of one year of hands-on experience demonstrating proficiency in the area of expertise.
  • Additional qualifications or certifications in building maintenance, such as courses on facility management, plumbing, electrical systems or refrigeration, will be considered an advantage.
  • Good reading comprehension and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, preventative maintenance techniques and relevant safety regulations is highly desirable.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of building systems and equipment.
