The Process Technician performs engineering work. Work at this level is not complex. Some wide variety of complex technical tasks will have engineer’s instructions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs new process line setup and installation.
- Performs new BOM setup in SAP and MES.
- Conducts semi-routine engineering and detailed experimental tests.
- Keeps detailed and accurate logs of all assigned activities.
- Participates in yield and continuous improvement actions.
- Involves heavily in process optimization activities together with Process Engineers.
- Assists engineers in designing, developing, constructing, and evaluating process jigs and fixtures.
- Understands, sustains, and maintains the production process flow.
- Adheres to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
- Maintains confidentiality of all information related to production processes, components, business, and other technology including materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Works in a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering lab environment.
- Completes many repetitive tasks that involve the use of electronic equipment.
- At times, works with operators to complete product builds based on OMS instructions. Acts as an immediate guide to operators for any critical builds.
- Works under direct supervision and occasionally receives support from engineers to understand new tasks.
- Overtime may be necessary during periods of increased demand.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to operate basic box build tools, such as torque drivers and soldering systems.
- Good judgment to resolve problems.
- Good communication skills and teamwork.
- Knowledge of BOM, SAP, MES, basic Microsoft skills, etc.
- Basic English reading ability is preferred.
- Good computational and technical skills.
- Ability to work independently and creatively.
EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of Process/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in manufacturing processes.
- Basic English knowledge.
- ESD knowledge.
- 5S knowledge.
- Product manual assembly procedure knowledge.
EDUCATION:
- Technical school diploma or equivalent, or related field, education, and/or experience.
