As a Technician II supporting Finishing Engineering team, you will be primarily responsible for handling complex technical tasks in planning, designing, and implementing maintenance programs for facilities and equipment. You will build effective and meaningful relationships with production staff and ensure adherence to procedures at Johor, Malaysia. A typical day will include:
- Executing efficient and effective preventive maintenance (PM) activities to keep instruments and equipment in good condition and ensure no overdue PM.
- Maintaining all instruments and equipment related to Finishing Engineering, Production, Lab, and QC at minimal downtime and NCRs. Providing engineering support to other functions as required.
- Ensuring correct SOPs and forms are used for planned activities, maintaining good documentation practices, and using updated release documents for PM activities in a validated state.
- Properly recording and keeping all PM records, and providing 24/7 support to production.
- Participating in cost reduction, cost saving, machine setup, and improving the efficiency of PM and machine repairs.
- Handling technical tasks related to planning, designing, and implementing maintenance programs to optimize facility and equipment availability and productivity.
- Assisting in coordinating maintenance engineering work, liaising with production staff for repair work, safety inspections, and supply of new plant and equipment.
- Reviewing mechanical and electrical specifications and assessing new equipment for reliability, ease of maintenance, and spare parts availability.
- Participating in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Making decisions within your scope, requiring advanced technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Adhering to GxP regulations by following SOPs, maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring quality control, and completing training.
- Contributing to organizational compliance and continuous improvement efforts.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Diploma in Engineering (+1 year relevant experience)
- Advanced Certificate in Engineering (+3 years relevant experience)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing.
- Experience in a medical devices environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical issues.
- Skilled in electronic circuit troubleshooting, chiller systems, power supply systems, and schematic reading and interpretation.
- Willing to work in 12-hour rotating shifts.
