The Facilities Scrubber Technician is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of scrubber systems. This role ensures that the scrubbers operate effectively to remove hazardous or harmful substances from process exhaust in compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. The technician plays a key role in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on wet/dry scrubbers and exhaust treatment equipment.
  • Monitor system performance (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow rate, pH levels) and adjust parameters to maintain optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, or process-related issues in scrubber systems.
  • Assists Facilities Engineer with day-to-day projects and special projects.
  • Assists Facilities Engineer with design of scrubber equipment/control as needed.
  • Conduct scheduled cleaning, component replacement (e.g., pumps, sensors, filters), and calibration of scrubber equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and PM records
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety procedures, hazardous materials handling guidelines, and environmental regulations.
  • Respond to alarms, faults, or emergency situations and carry out corrective actions quickly and safely.
  • Coordinate with other facilities technicians, production teams, and vendors to minimize downtime during maintenance activities.
  • Support scrubber startup/shutdown procedures during tool installation, relocation, or decommissioning projects
  • Maintained confidentiality of all information related to the production processes and components, business and other technology including materials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Works in light manufacturing and construction environment.
  • May also work in standard office environment and use general office equipment (phone, PC, copier, fax machine etc.).
  • Working in shift pattern
  • Weekend work and over-time may be necessary at times.

SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge of scrubber theory and application and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Hands on experience with PC’s and related programs such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of facility system including scrubbers, HVAC, exhaust systems and chemical pipelines.
  • Familiarity with EHS requirements and chemical safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in shift pattern.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in scrubber applications and construction is highly desirable.
  • Prefer journey-level experience with scrubber work.

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in facility maintenance, preferably in semiconductor, electronics or chemical manufacturing
  • Prefer industrial background/education.
