Job summary

An engineering firm based in Penang is looking for a technician to perform calibration checks and support engineers in testing. Candidates should have knowledge of electrical engineering, experience with testing instruments, and a technical school or high school education. This role requires good communication skills and the ability to work independently. The position is located at Penang Science Park.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical engineering or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of English preferred.
• Knowledge of ESD and 5S.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration checks on electronic instruments.
• Conduct semi-routine engineering and detailed tests.
• Assist engineers with design and evaluation of test equipment.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs engineering work. Work at this level is not complex. Some wide variety of complex technical tasks will have engineer’s instructions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs calibration checks on electronic instruments.
• Perform unit test to support production schedule.
• Conducts semi-routine engineering and detailed experimental tests.
• Keeps detailed and accurate logs on all assigned activities.
• Participate in yield and continuous improvement action.
• Help to control SPC and GR&R.
• Assists engineers to design, development, construction, and evaluation of test fixture and equipment.
• Understands, sustains and maintains test program, maintains test equipment system with Test Engineer support
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  
  

SKILLS:

• Ability to read electronic schematics
• Ability to exercise good judgment to resolve problems.
• Good communication ability and team work.
• Knowledge of testing instruments, such as Digital Scope, DMM, Generator, computer etc.
• Knowledge of Basic English ability, reading ability preferred
• Good computational and technical skills.

• Knowledge of electrical Engineering or a related field
• Basic English knowledge
• ESD knowledge
• 5S knowledge

EDUCATION:
Technical school or high school level or a related field, or equivalent education and/or experience.

Candidate must be willing to work at Penang Science Park, Simpang Ampat.
