Job summary

Penta Auto Sdn Bhd, a Chery authorized dealer in Bayan Lepas, Penang, is seeking a service technician to perform maintenance and inspections on vehicles. The role requires diagnosing electrical faults and reporting findings to Service Advisors, with responsibilities including tool use and safe operation.

Candidates should hold a Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Technology and have 2 years in the industry. Fresh graduates and interns are welcome to apply, with apprenticeship experience

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in automotive technology.
• 2 years of automotive industry experience.
• Fresh graduates may apply; completion of an apprenticeship is a plus.
• Internship applications are accepted.

Responsibilities

• Conduct periodic maintenance service and vehicle inspections and report to Service Advisors.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components failure.
• Operate hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment; keep them clean and organized.
• Observe safety and environmental regulations to protect workers and the environment.
• Notify superiors for post-repair checks to ensure safety and proper functioning.
• Assist with parts ordering, stock replenishment, and follow up on parts delivery.

Qualifications & experience

• Possessed Certificate/Diploma level from a recognized technical college / institute.
• 2-year working experience in the automotive industry.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Completion of apprenticeship from the automotive industry will be an added advantage

Tasks & responsibilities

• To conduct periodic maintenance service jobs and also to perform an overall vehicle inspection and reporting to the Service Advisors in order to inform the vehicle owners for recommended parts that need potential future replacement due to wearing out
• To diagnose & fix electrical components failure
• To operate various hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment/analyser and keep them clean and organized
• To observe all safety precautions & environmental regulations for protection against accidents in workplace and contamination to environment respectively.
• To notify immediate superiors for post- repair checks of vehicle conditions for ensuring safety and proper functioning after job completion.
• Assist with parts ordering, stock replenishment, and follow up on parts delivery from suppliers
