Job summary

WD is seeking a Test Equipment Maintenance professional to set up and troubleshoot major downtime issues across testcell, tester, bagger, VDCS, and conveyors in a manufacturing environment.

The role requires 4–5 years in a manufacturing setting, strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, and adherence to safety and ISO standards. Training and improvement projects are part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related).
• 4-5 years’ manufacturing experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and safety protocols.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and equipment manuals.
• Experience with Lockout/Tagout and PPE usage is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and troubleshoot major downtime issues for test equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot testcell yield issues to maintain quality and throughput.
• Investigate quality incidents and support root cause analysis.
• Perform product conversions on test equipment for production needs.
• Monitor KPIVs using databases, OEE, and PM systems.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up and troubleshoot major downtime issues for test equipment, including Testcell, Tester, Bagger, VDCS, and Conveyor systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Testcell yield issues to maintain product quality and throughput.
• Conduct investigations for quality incidents related to test equipment and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Perform product conversions on test equipment to support various production requirements.
• Monitor key process input variables (KPIVs) using tools such as the KPOV database, OEE tracking, Maintenance Logs, and the Digital Preventive Maintenance system.
• Drive and support equipment upgrade and continuous improvement projects to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Act as an upskilling trainer for test equipment, providing technical training and guidance to team members.
• Perform equipment checklists in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Assist engineers with daily tasks and contribute to special projects as required.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and documentation practices.
• Adhere strictly to all safety rules and cleanroom protocols.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or related field).
• 4-5 years’ working experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Good knowledge of mechanical systems (motors, bearings, gears, conveyors, pumps, compressors) and electrical systems (AC/DC, three-phase, sensors, relays, drives).
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, and pressure controls.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (electrical diagrams, equipment manuals).
• Understanding of failure mechanisms and ability to isolate, detect, and correct equipment issues.
• Proficiency in using MS Windows Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting and documentation.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment (Lockout/Tagout, PPE usage).

PREFERRED:

• Experience with PLC basics and troubleshooting automation/controls.
• Exposure to preventive and predictive maintenance tools
• Experience with Test & Measurement equipment

SKILLS:

• Technical Expertise – Strong hands-on ability to perform maintenance, repairs, and adjustments on industrial machinery.
• Troubleshooting – Logical fault isolation and problem-solving skills for mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
• Tool & Instrument Proficiency – Skilled in the use of multimeters, alignment tools, torque wrenches, calipers, oscilloscope, function generator and other diagnostic equipment.
• Communication – Ability to explain technical findings clearly to colleagues, engineers, and supervisors.
• Safety Awareness – Knowledge and practice of safe work procedures in industrial settings.
• Teamwork – Effective collaborator across production, engineering, and quality teams.
• Adaptability – Capable of handling emergencies, unexpected breakdowns, and evolving technologies.
• Continuous Learning – Willingness to learn new machines, processes, and emerging automation technologies.
