Duties & Responsibilities

• Splicing and terminating fiber optic cable
• Testing all fiber optic installations using OTDR, light meters and other related test equipment
• Installing fiber optic splice cases and termination cabinets; terminating fibers using ST and SC connectors and locating splice/termination points
• Troubleshooting and performing maintenance to resolve signal problems
• Ensure the networking receives optimum performance
• Notify Project Manager of any problems, needs or concerns
• Ensure compliance with policy and procedure requirements from service providers
• Follow company safety procedures and properly plan for the safety of the works

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least SPM or Certificate / Diploma in electronics, fiber optic or telecommunication technology
• Working experience in the related field would be a distinct advantage
• Have own transport
