Job summary

A global real estate services company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a technician to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems and electrical equipment. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in engineering and 2-3 years of relevant experience in a building or factory environment. Strong schematic reading and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years working experience as a technician in a building, factory, or hospital.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
• Coordinate work as assigned by Lead Electrician.
• Estimate time and materials for work orders.
• Repair electric motors and auxiliary electrical devices.
• Install new wiring and electrical machinery from prints and diagrams.
• Isolate and repair defective circuits.
• Dismantle electrical machinery, replace defective parts, and test for operation.
• Check and repair campus lighting systems.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area following safety regulations.
• Assist with fire alarm system testing as needed.

Position Function

Install, test, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, electric lights, power distribution, circuit controls, and appliances throughout the buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Receive work orders and coordinate work to fit schedule as assigned by Lead Electrician.
• Estimate time and materials required on work order.
• Maintain facility helpdesk call system, watts-up, mechanical alarm systems.
• Repair electric motors, controllers and other auxiliary electrical devices.
• Install new wiring and electrical machinery; work from prints and diagrams to determine layout, location, and specifications of items to install.
• Isolate and repair defective circuits as required.
• Dismantle electrical machinery and break connections; replace defective parts; reassemble, and test for proper operation.
• Check and repair lighting systems at campus
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following prescribed safety regulations.
• Assist the fire alarm testing company, as needed, to maintain facility fire alarm system.

Minimum Skills/Abilities

• Read schematic and troubleshooting of M&E issues.
• Have good communication skills.

Certification/Licensure

• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Mechanical Engineering
• 2-3 years working experience as technician in building, factory or hospital
