Job description

Vacancy: Technical Service Engineer
Location: Kuala Lumpur
Job Family: Engineering-General

As the Technical Service Engineer you will be required to work independently (with support from other regional technical service engineers) as the key point of contact providing technical expertise and advice to customers across the region within the Syngas business. They will apply technical understanding and knowledge of the Catalyst Technology (CT) product portfolio to solve a range of problems, from simple troubleshooting to complex projects. They will be the technical face of the CT organisation, both liaising with customers remotely and travelling to meet with regional customers in person.

Your responsibilities:
• Provide technical service to customers through direct customer support. Build and maintain effective partnerships with customers in an ethical and safe manner
• Engage in customer visits including technical meetings and plant audits
• Assist the Sales organization with technical evaluations, preparing technical proposals and guarantees to support commercial sales
• Extract maximum value from the segmented customer base through developing and deploying the appropriate level of technical services
• Providing technical input and support to other members of the global technical service team and account managers to ensure a consistent high standard of service for our customers is provided
• Ensure all activities are undertaken in accordance with JM code of ethics and EHS policy and practices

Requirements for the role:
• Background in syngas catalysts, absorbents, chemicals and/or additives desirable
• Detailed knowledge of chemical plants
• Significant customer-facing experience
• Strong understanding of customers’ business and production process
• Ability to drive change
