Job summary

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager at Molex (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to lead global, cross-functional teams through New Product Development from initiation to production launch. You will partner with customers, product management, engineering, operations, and suppliers to deliver high-speed connectivity solutions in a fast-paced environment.

• Partner with Product Managers to ensure technology development projects align with customer programmes.
• Lead multiple New Product Development projects simultaneously.
• Develop and maintain internal and customer-facing project charters defining strategy, scope, objectives, deliverables, and schedules.
• Own project communications and reporting to internal management and external customers.
• Manage project governance, change control, decision documentation, and alignment of objectives.
• Lead development, execution, monitoring, and closure of project plans, including transition to production ownership.
• Establish and manage overall project schedules with cross-functional alignment.
• Coach and mentor project team members on project management best practices, PDP, risk management, and decisions.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to cost, quality, timing, and execution.
• Collaborate with suppliers to meet quality, delivery, and cost targets.

Technical Project Manager (NPI / Product Development)

As a Technical Project Manager, you will lead global, cross-functional teams through the New Product Development Process from project initiation through production launch. You will partner closely with customers, product management, engineering, operations, and suppliers to deliver innovative connectivity solutions that meet business objectives and customer expectations. This role requires strong technical project management expertise, effective stakeholder management, and the ability to drive execution, manage risks, and make informed project decisions in a fast-paced global environment.

Our highly skilled engineering and product development teams collaborate across regions to design and launch innovative, high-speed, high-density solutions that help customers improve performance, signal integrity, and efficiency. As a Technical Project Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers around the world to bring new products from concept to production.

What You Will Do

Partner with Product Managers to ensure Molex technology development projects align with and support customer product programmes through effective collaboration, communication, and project execution.

Lead multiple New Product Development projects simultaneously, supporting both customer-specific and general market product initiatives.

Develop and maintain internal and customer-facing project charters that clearly define project strategy, scope, financial objectives, deliverables, and schedules.

Own project communications and reporting, providing regular updates to both internal management teams and external customers.

Manage project governance processes, including project change control, decision documentation, and alignment of project objectives.

Lead the development, execution, monitoring, and successful closure of project plans, including transition to production ownership.

Establish and manage overall project schedules while coordinating with functional team members to ensure alignment of detailed functional workstreams and deliverables.

Lead, coach, and mentor project team members on project management best practices, Product Development Processes (PDP), risk management, issue resolution, and decision-making frameworks.

Proactively identify, assess, document, and execute mitigation plans to reduce risks related to cost, quality, timing, and overall project execution.

Collaborate with suppliers to ensure performance expectations related to quality, delivery timelines, and cost objectives are achieved in support of project goals.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.

At least four years of project management experience in a product development or technical business environment.

Experience leading cross-functional projects involving product development activities.

Experience working directly with customers or in external stakeholder-facing roles.

Experience leading geographically dispersed or multinational teams within a matrix organisation.

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%–25% of the time.

Flexibility to participate in morning or evening meetings to support global team collaboration.

Ability to obtain PMP certification within one year of employment.

What Will Put You Ahead

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.

Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent postgraduate qualification.

Experience using SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Experience leading complex New Product Introduction (NPI) or product development programmes across multiple functions and regions.
