Job summary

Jora Malaysia seeks a hands-on Technical Product Lead / Solution Architect to own projects from requirement gathering to deployment and maintenance. You will bridge business stakeholders with software, robotics, electrical teams, and hardware suppliers, crafting end-to-end solutions and leading a technical team.

The role covers backend/frontend work, cloud, edge computing, and realtime data interfaces; PoCs, APIs, and ROS topics are integral to success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
4+ years of relevant industry experience in software engineering, technical product ownership, systems integration, solution architecture, or a similar hands-on technical role.
Strong understanding of the SDLC, agile delivery, system architecture, APIs, databases, networking, deployment, and troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience with Linux/Ubuntu; comfortable configuring, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux-based apps and edge environments.
Experience with Python and practical exposure to Flutter/Dart and/or React for application, HMI, dashboard, or frontend development.
Experience designing or integrating REST APIs, WebSockets, real-time telemetry, backend services, and frontend applications.
Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, including schema/data-model design and integration.
Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and server operations (EC2, Docker, Nginx, SSL).
Edge computing, IoT, robotics, industrial systems, or hardware-software integration exposure.
Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 concepts and integration with backend/frontend systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as the technical liaison between business stakeholders, clients, software developers, robotics teams, electrical/electronics teams, UI/UX teams, and external suppliers.
Gather and analyse business, operational, software, hardware, and integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications, user stories, system flows, and development tasks.
Own the product backlog and technical priorities across multiple projects, including features, integrations, maintenance work, bug fixes, dependencies, and delivery milestones.
Design end-to-end solution architecture covering frontend applications, backend services, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, edge computers, networking, and hardware interfaces.
Develop or coordinate initial proofs of concept to validate architecture, APIs, communication flows, hardware integration, and user workflows.
Translate validated PoCs and architectures into structured development tasks and guide the project team through implementation, integration, testing, and deployment.
Contribute hands-on to software development and troubleshooting using Python, Flutter/Dart, React, REST APIs, WebSockets, and real-time data interfaces.
Design and support dashboards, mobile apps, web interfaces, and HMIs; create user flows, wireframes, and mockups in Figma.
Work with robotics and electrical teams to determine robot status, telemetry, alarms, and controls exposed to users.
Integrate robotics data and application controls into backend/frontend systems; core robotics algorithms remain the robotics team's responsibility.
Design and maintain data models and integrations using PostgreSQL and MongoDB for various data categories.
Deploy and maintain Linux/Ubuntu-based servers and edge computing apps; support limited-connectivity environments.
Deploy and maintain applications on AWS (EC2), Docker, Nginx, SSL, domains, and production troubleshooting.
Identify hardware requirements, source and evaluate suppliers, and participate in PoC testing when required.
Lead and coordinate the technical project team, break architecture into work packages, assign tasks, and ensure knowledge transfer and documentation.
Assess resource needs, participate in technical interviews, and support recruitment and team-building activities.
