Technical Learning Lead - 42 Malaysia

Location: On-site (Subang Jaya, with occasional travel to 42 Penang and 42 Iskandar Puteri)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic Technical Learning Lead to join the 42 Malaysia team and shape how our students learn, grow, and succeed. Sitting at the unique intersection of tech, education, and community, you'll help keep our learning ecosystem rigorous, relevant, and inspiring.

In this role, you’ll also work closely with industry partners to ensure our educational standards meet real-world expectations. You will be responsible for identifying gaps between the 42 programme’s learning outcomes and industry needs, and strategizing ways to equip our students with the skills required in today’s and tomorrow’s tech landscape.

Specific Duties of the Role:

1. Dive deep into the 42 curriculum and become an internal expert in how students learn through projects.
2. Track and analyse student learning progression across campuses.
3. Coordinate and support major programs like admission bootcamps, curriculum launches, evaluations, and learning events.
4. Contribute to the development of project documents, learning guides, and technical resources to improve the learning experience.
5. Work with the Director of Learning and other team members to improve peer learning systems, student project delivery, and feedback loops.
6. Explore and propose new tools, approaches, or techniques that align with 42’s values of autonomy, academic integrity, peer learning, and gamification.

Must-Have:

1. While a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, we are open to candidates without a formal degree who can demonstrate equivalent experience and skills.
2. Strong technical foundation in C, C++, Git and Linux. If your skills don’t match but you have other relevant technical skills and are willing to learn, we are open for discussion.
3. Passion for tech education, continuous learning, and helping others grow.
4. Excellent communication skills — you can break down complex ideas clearly and concisely.

Nice-to-Have:

1. Knowledge of web technologies (JS, Python, etc.), cloud (Docker, GCP, etc.), or cybersecurity topics.
2. Prior experience as a student, mentor in 42 or similar programmes (like coding bootcamps).
3. Experience building internal tools or resources for student learning.
