Job description

The Moulding Technical Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise in injection and compression moulding processes, tooling, and equipment to ensure consistent production of high-quality components. This role involves developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting moulding processes, supporting new product introductions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce defects, and improve overall productivity. The engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including production, quality, tooling, and product development to meet customer requirements and company objectives.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Science & Technology/ Mechanical/ Polymer/ Plastic and Rubber Engineering, DPRIM or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of working experience in the rubber/ polymer related or manufacturing field.
  • Experience in new mould trial runs, validation, and part approval process (e.g., PPAP).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and part specifications.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for part defects.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), DOE, and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team-oriented mindset with ability to coordinate across production, quality, and tooling departments.
Job Responsibilities
  • To assist Technical Executive in new product development activities.
  • Involve in tool drawing review when new tool kickoff or modification required.
  • Involve in prototype/PPAP sample preparation and sample submission for product development project.
  • To ensure Product Development Procedure is followed during product development activities.
  • To involve in mould inspection and repairing/Modification activities.
  • Involved in Prototyping activities and preparation of Prototype Report.
  • To establish detail processing procedure (such as blanking, moulding, postcure, metal preparation, Temporary Acceptance Criteria, finishing and packaging).
  • To involve in proposal/designing appropriate tools for manufacturing processes.
  • To liaise with Measurement Centre and physical lab for sample preparation and testing requirement.
  • To involve in Pilot Run activities and Report preparation.
  • To involve in trouble-shooting and rejects reduction activities in Moulding Department.
  • Ensure all documentation required by IATF, ISO, and other compliance standards is properly maintained and updated.
