A leading company in the metal manufacturing industry is looking for a Procurement Executive to manage sourcing, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely deliveries in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu. Candidates should possess a degree in Business or Engineering and have significant experience in procurement within a manufacturing context.
Competitively purchase machine fabrications and commercial components,
In conjunction with the Engineering Department, source, visit, select and approve, fabricators, suppliers and sub assemblers,
Expedite purchase orders for timely deliveries,
Negotiate discounts, terms and delivery cycles with suppliers,
Strategically plan supplier deliveries to meet project schedules,
Use the procurement module to effectively order parts and control inventory levels,
Research and suggest alternative suppliers to the Engineering Department,
2) Planning/Scheduling:
Work with the Engineering Department to effectively plan specialist MRO equipment requirements,
Plan equipment deliveries based on project requirements,
Advise Stores personnel of material deliveries and resolve defects and shortages.
3) Technical Service and QA:
Advise Engineering Department of equipment availability,
Work with Stores personnel to process defective materials and vendor returns,
Work with suppliers to correct defective material problems,
Assist the Pertama accounting function with invoice problems and corrections.
To comply with company Safety Policy and Procedures, 5S practice and
To undertake any other job assigned by immediate superior or Management from time to time.
Min Qualification and Job Requirements:-
Bachelor degree in Business / Commerce or Manufacturing / Engineering is preferred;
Extensive hands-on technical experience in a manufacturing industry is a pre-requisite;
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and components;
Excellent problem solving, follow up and negotiation skills;
Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements;
Contract management and supplier experience is preferred;
Competent in Microsoft Office
Willing to work in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu Sarawak.

Pertama Ferroalloys Sdn. Bhd. was established on 2nd December 2010 as the first large-scale manganese alloys and ferrosilicon plant in Malaysia. Formerly known as AML Manganese (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., the company was established by global ferroalloy production leaders to produce and supply manganese alloy products for the steel industry worldwide.
An investment costing USD300 million, the Pertama smelting plant occupies an area of 180 hectares in the Samalaju Industrial Park in Bintulu, Sarawak as the 1st manganese alloys and ferrosilicon smelting plant in Malaysia. Construction of the plant started in Q2-2012 and first tapping of the Ferrosilicon furnace was successfully carried out in Q2 2016 with the next tapping for the Silicon Manganese furnace scheduled in Q3 2016. The remaining furnaces are to follow at scheduled intervals within the year with full commercial operation in Q2-2017. The plant on full operation will have an output of 240,000 metric tons per annum.
