Job summary

A multinational technology firm is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to manage supplier partnerships, ensuring supply chain objectives and quality performance. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to address quality concerns and drive improvements. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering and has 3-5 years of relevant experience in the PCB industry. This is a hybrid position in Kulim, Malaysia.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in mechanical part commodity, PCB industry.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Ability to analyze quality reports and implement corrective action.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities.
  • Identify improvement opportunities within supplier processes.
  • Communicate product quality concerns and initiate corrective actions.
  • Participate in continual improvement programs and activities.
  • Initiate and track Supplier Corrective Actions Requests.
  • Maintain SQE MRB area and facilitate sorting activities.
  • Monitor supplier performance through audits and reporting.

Skills

Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer works closely with supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and the engineering department, to facilitate and manage successful supplier partnerships to ensure supply chain objectives and improve quality performance. The Engineer supports supply chain in the selection and qualification of suppliers and owns the process of qualifying the parts, product or service being procured. In addition, maintain supplier performance metrics and measurements, facilitate product and process improvements, manage compliance to quality requirements. The Engineer also provides engineering and technical assistance to suppliers as required, establish, compile, produce, and analyze quality reports to discern quality levels and implement corrective action as appropriate.

Responsibilities
  • To exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within supplier processes and assist, as necessary, with the development and implementation of these improvement activities
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal customers on product quality concerns and initiate corrective and/or preventive actions for these concerns
  • Participate in continual improvement programs and activities to support the achievement of department KPI.
  • Initiate, review and track Supplier Corrective Actions Requests until actions have been implemented and verified as effective
  • Maintain SQE MRB area.
  • When applicable, facilitate and supervise all sorting activities for material disposition.
  • Supplier performance monitoring, supplier audit and FAIR process.
  • Tracking, reporting and analysis of supplier nonconforming material and/or scrap
Knowledge / Skills / Competencies
  • Experience with MS Office applications and MS Window operating systems, SAP.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Computer applications
  • Familiar with contract manufacturing industry.
Typical Experience

3-5 Years experience in mechanical part commodity, PCB industry.

Typical Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ E&E engineering or related subject.
