About the job Tech Lead - Small Backend Team (Python & Django)

Tech Stack: Python / Django, ReactJS, React Native, Testing: Postman, Cloud: AWS

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing a small team of 4 engineers (BE / FE / Mobile & Tester)
• Hire & Grow the team 4 to 8 engineers over the next 6 months, as project demands grow.
• Hands on Backend Engineering with Python & Django
• Developing a roadmap for new fintech features to support product scalability and long-term goals.
• Building a comprehensive fintech platform with new, cross-platform, features
• Implementing solutions to optimize existing products, with a focus on functionality and user experience.
• Overseeing technical direction, and handling project management.

Must Have

• Familiarity with the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Problem-Solving Skill / Critical Thinking / Start up (or freelancing) / fast chainging environment

Nice to have

• Bonus: Industry relevant: Fintech, Accounting or Finance

Levels

• Directly reporting to the CEO & CTO with over 20 years in fintech
• 5 - 7 years engineering experience, ideally in a Python, Django, Back End role
• 1-2 years leading / mentoring a team (you dont need experience in an official Tech Lead capacity)
• Can consider senior back end engineers ready to step to to lead a team

Culture

• Problem solver who doesnt need to wait for instructions and can make suggestions.
• The seniors work in KL & some junior staff remote / outside of Malaysia.
