Universal Robina Corporation is looking for a Team Lead, Packaging Development under Research and Development.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure support to new product launches with packaging development compliant to product, brand, regulatory, statutory requirements.
  2. Collaborate with Product Development, Consumer Technical Insights and Marketing to conceptualize and implement consumer-focused packaging innovation and solutions capitalizing on packaging elements such as structure, material, graphic/aesthetic, and process.
  3. Create and implement performance indicators and measures for the achievement of group business objectives that align with corporate goals.
  4. Collaborate with regional counterparts to carry out programs for the harmonization of practices in business work processes, material parameters, testings, procedures, and documentation.
  5. Identify and manage budget for operations, programs, and capability-building initiatives.
  6. Execute programs that would obtain, retain, and develop skills to improve work performance and support company growth.
  7. Provide technical resources to internal partners (QA, Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, ESD/MRG, Brand, and Sales) to facilitate decision-making, create action plans, or conceptualize programs.
  8. Manage and drive progress to achieve objectives, milestones, and timelines for NPDs, sustainability, renovation, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Approve and ensure accuracy of documentation for testings, specifications, process parameters, bill of materials references, and other SAP-related information.
  10. Work with external parties and internal stakeholders to ensure robust project management, risk assessment, and risk mitigation.
  11. Decide on the appropriate technical aspects of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging to drive cost savings, robust operability on equipment, optimum shelf impact, and sustainability, holding primary accountability for these choices.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree: In Packaging Technology, Materials Science, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
  2. Master’s Degree (Optional): An advanced degree may be preferred for more senior positions.
  3. Relevant Experience: Typically 4-8 years in packaging development or related fields, with a proven track record in managing packaging projects.
  4. Experience in regulatory compliance and food safety regulations related to packaging materials, labeling, and certifications.
  5. Experience in the FMCG industry is an added advantage.
