JOB DESCRIPTION FOR TEACHER OF BIOLOGY/CHEMISTRY

Job Title: Teacher of Biology/Chemistry

Department: Secondary School - Science

Reports to: Head of Science

Must liaise with: Teaching colleagues

Brief Overview of Role:

The teacher is responsible for planning and teaching Biology/Chemistry. The teacher is expected to develop and deliver an appropriate programme based on the National Curriculum framework.

The teacher must:

  • be flexible and adaptable to different learning situations and teaching styles
  • differentiate through various strategies
  • inform class teachers of students’ progress
  • inform parents and attend parent teacher conferences, as required
  • contribute to the extra curricula activities of the school and be involved in school development
  • undertake any other duties as requested by the Principal or members of the Senior Leadership Team
