Purpose of Role
We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced Science Laboratory Assistant and Teacher to support the teaching and learning of students during lessons in the school.

Key Responsibilities
  • The preparation of materials and equipment for science lessons.
  • Maintaining science laboratories and preparation rooms and their equipment, and services in good order.
  • General duties in support of the teachers in the Science Department.
  • Prepare solutions with the precise molarities.
  • Weigh, with precision, the accurate mass required for the chemicals and solutions.
  • Handle and store hazardous solutions and chemicals safely.
  • Bend glass tubes and rods to required forms.
  • Dissect, preserve and mount fresh biological specimens.
  • Carry out simple repairs e.g soldering, drilling, cutting and mounting.
  • Set up apparatus eg. experiments for distillation, fermentation and condensation.
Line management

The Teacher will report to the Head of National Secondary.

Skills, Qualifications And Experience
  • Possess at least a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge in any Science subjects or experience working in a laboratory.
  • Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • A team player and flexible to meet the needs of the department
