Job Summary:
Are you a fresh graduate with a keen interest in taxation and a desire to build a specialized career in tax compliance and advisory? We are seeking a highly motivated and meticulous Taxation Associate to join our professional team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on experience predominantly in company tax (approximately 95%) and also in personal tax (approximately 5%). You will learn the intricacies of Malaysian tax laws and work closely with experienced tax professionals. We are looking for an individual eager to pursue professional qualification in taxation.
Key Responsibilities (Non-Exhaustive):
Assist in the preparation of corporate tax computations and tax returns for various clients.
Support the preparation of individual income tax computations and tax returns.
Assist in liaising with the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) on behalf of clients regarding tax assessments, queries, and audits.
Help maintain accurate tax records and documentation for clients.
Conduct basic tax research to support tax advisory services.
Assist in preparing tax-related correspondence and reports.
Ensure timely submission of tax filings and compliance with statutory deadlines.
Undertake any other ad-hoc tax or finance-related duties as assigned by senior team members.
Requirements:
A fresh graduate with a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong interest and commitment to building a career in taxation, with a desire to pursue professional tax qualifications (e.g., CTIM - Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia).
No prior working experience is required, but any relevant internships or part-time experience in accounting or tax is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Proficiency in other languages (e.g., Mandarin) is an advantage, especially for liaising with foreign clients.
Highly organized, meticulous, and able to manage multiple tasks and strict deadlines effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and eager to learn tax software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
