Job summary

Cheng & Co Group in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead tax planning, compliance, and client advisory services from our Headquarters at Faber Towers, Taman Desa. You will oversee tax filings, risk assessments, and regulator updates while mentoring a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate holds ACCA/CPA/CIMA or equivalent, with at least 5 years in income tax and proven leadership, in a dynamic Malaysian firm. Competitive remuneration and growth opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

• Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA (Aust), CIMA or equivalent is mandatory for leadership roles.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in income tax compliance with proven team management capability.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations, compliance procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tax computations and filings to ensure compliance with local tax laws.
• Manage direct tax returns preparation and submissions with deadlines.
• Provide expert advice and support to clients during tax audits and regulatory changes.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the Tax Compliance Team to maintain high performance.
