Job summary

YYC Group in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Tax Senior Associate to join our taxation team. This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality tax compliance services for a diverse client base, while developing technical expertise and supervising junior team members.

About the role

YYC is seeking for Tax Senior Associate to join our growing taxation team. This is a full-time position based in our Pudu office in Kuala Lumpur. As a Tax Senior Associate, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality tax compliance services to our diverse client portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to develop your technical expertise whilst managing client relationships and supervising junior team members. You will be instrumental in supporting the strategic tax initiatives of our clients and contributing to the continued growth and success of our taxation practice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax compliance documentation, including corporate tax returns, SST filings and other regulatory submissions
• Conduct tax research and analysis on complex tax issues to support client decision-making
• Manage relationships with clients and ensure delivery of services within agreed timelines and quality standards
• Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance on technical matters and professional development
• Prepare tax memos, position papers and technical documentation for clients and internal stakeholders
• Liaise with relevant tax authorities and assist clients in addressing tax compliance queries
• Identify opportunities for tax efficiency and cost optimisation for clients
• Contribute to the development of tax tools, templates and resources to enhance team efficiency

What we're looking for

• A professional qualification in accounting or taxation (CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2-5 years' post-qualification experience in tax advisory, compliance or a similar role
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax legislation and regulations, including income tax, SST and corporate tax
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously whilst maintaining high quality standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex tax regulations
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain tax concepts clearly to clients and colleagues
