Job description

Client information:

We are representing our client, a reputable tax consulting firm that provides comprehensive tax solutions, including tax planning, advisory, compliance, and audit support. With a commitment to simplifying complex tax matters, they work closely with clients to ensure tax efficiency, compliance, and strategic planning aligned with business goals.

Job Description:

  1. Manage an assigned portfolio of clients and projects and lead teams to deliver tax services effectively. This includes corporate tax planning, tax audit, and tax investigation.
  2. Analyze the latest development in direct (i.e., income tax) and indirect (i.e., Sales & Services Tax) tax legislation and prepare technical circulars/articles for staff and external clients.
  3. Assist in the preparation of presentation slides for tax webinars (i.e., monthly tax update class, real estate property gains tax, company tax, transfer pricing, sales & services tax, etc.)
  4. Provide detailed technical advice to inquiries raised by staff and external clients on issues related to taxation.
  5. Liaise with the Inland Revenue Board and Royal Malaysian Customs Department on tax matters.

Job Requirements:

  1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a major in Taxation and/or a professional qualification like ACCA, CPA Australia, CTIM, ICAEW, or its equivalent.
  2. Candidate must have at least 3 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in a public accounting firm or a corporate tax department.
  3. Proven ability to conduct extensive research on tax matters.
  4. Good tax knowledge and experience in all aspects of tax advisory.
  5. Ability to set clear directions and goals for the team.
  6. Skills in coaching and developing team members.
  7. Required languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
  8. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Additional Information:

  1. Location: Pudu, Kuala Lumpur
  2. Working hours: Mon - Fri / 8.30am to 5.30pm (flexi working hours can start between 7.30am - 9.30am)
