Job summary

PwC Malaysia is seeking an Associate for the Tax Payroll Services team in Kuala Lumpur. You will handle end-to-end payroll processing for client headcounts and ensure statutory compliance across Income Tax, EPF, SOCSO and related filings.

You will prepare payslips, submit returns, and provide clients with guidance on payroll legislation while maintaining high service standards and adherence to PwC's professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Degree in HR, Business Admin, Accounting or related field.
• 1–2 years payroll domain experience.
• End-to-end payroll processing experience is a plus.
• Experience in HR Shared Services, Outsourced or BPO environment preferred.
• Knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, EPF, SOCSO, Income Tax and other statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in payroll software, MS Excel and MS Word.
• Strong customer service orientation and a team-player mindset.
• Professionalism with attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for client batch headcounts, including data processing.
• Prepare and submit periodic statutory returns to the relevant authorities (Income Tax, EPF, SOCSO, HRDF, Tabung Haji).
• Prepare and disburse approved net salary via electronic banking facilities to designated banks.
• Issue payslips.
• Provide payroll statutory compliance services, including Form E and Form EA preparations.
• Prepare relevant payroll reports for clients.
• Register employers and employees with authorities (EPF, SOCSO, IRB).
• Notify IRB of new employees and apply for income tax file numbers.
• Provide advice on applicable payroll legislation as a payroll specialist.
• Manage client deliverables to ensure agreed timelines and quality.
• Follow risk management and compliance procedures.
• Share and collaborate effectively with others.
