We are looking for a Tax Manager to:
- Provide tax advisory, compliance, and strategic support in managing various tax-related risks and opportunities.
- Create, protect, and optimize value aligned with Nestlé's business objectives by managing tax projects and audits.
- Ensure compliance with direct taxes through quality review of work, monitoring compliance, and raising awareness.
A Day in the Life of a Tax Manager...
- Internal reporting: Review quarterly book closing tax schedules, year-end external auditor tax audit reports, and other tax packages (e.g., CPW). Include group reporting schedules from the center for both Malaysia and Singapore.
- Compliance - Direct Tax: Review work prepared by the outsourced tax center, including tax analysis reports, computations, and returns for all relevant entities in the Nestlé group. Manage tax payable estimations, cash flow planning, and monitor the group's overall tax position and effective tax rate.
- Tax Risk Management (Documentation): Prepare and review analyses and records to ensure proper maintenance for tax return preparation and audits. This includes detailed tax analysis, documentation for deductions and incentives (e.g., Halal incentives), and transfer pricing documentation for Malaysia and Singapore.
- Tax Appeal and Advisory: Prepare tax position papers, appeals, and defend the company's stance. Follow up with tax authorities on disputed matters, provide tax advice for transactions, and handle queries from authorities.
- Tax Value Creation and Awareness: Support the Group Tax Manager with tax projects, manage tax audits, and train staff on tax awareness. Oversee knowledge transfer and prepare training materials.
- Process Improvement: Enhance tax compliance and governance processes for greater efficiency.
What Will Make You Successful
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with at least 9 years of experience.
- Extensive experience in taxation within a public accounting firm and/or FMCG industry.
- Successful handling of tax appeals and audit settlements with IRB and/or customs authorities.
- Experience delivering presentations for training purposes.
- Ability to lead or participate in cross-functional projects.
- Strong understanding of business principles, especially in FMCG or professional accounting environments.
