Job summary

YYC & Co is seeking a Tax Associate to assist clients with tax compliance and ensure timely filings with the Inland Revenue Board. The role entails managing client files independently while fostering strong relationships. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and effective communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.

Qualifications

Responsible for assisting clients with tax compliance services, ensuring timely and accurate filings with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB). The Tax Associate’s role involves independently managing client files and assisting senior staff in delivering effective tax solutions while fostering strong client relationships.

Job Responsibility

Tax Compliance:

Assist in preparing and filing Corporate tax returns (Form C), Estimated tax payable (Form CP204), Employer tax returns (Form E), Individual tax returns (Form BE/B) and minimal cases for Association tax returns (Form TF) and Limited Liability Partnership tax returns (Form PT).

Prepare tax computations for corporate clients based on audited financial statements.

Follow up client’s payment after completing the job.

Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and compliance documents to the IRB.

Manage client communications regarding tax deadlines and requirements.

Handle tax audits and queries from the IRB.

Assist in ad hoc tasks and projects as required to support the team and business needs (where applicable).

Keep up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and provide relevant updates to clients.

Client Relationship Management:

Develop and maintain relationships with clients, acting as a key contact for their tax related queries.

Assist in handling client concerns and working closely with other departments, including audit and advisory, to provide comprehensive service.

Meet with clients together with seniors or manager either at the YYC office or at client’s office (where applicable).

Perform fieldwork at clients' offices, including outstation assignments (where applicable).

Work closely with seniors and managers to complete assignments and projects.

Participate in training sessions to improve technical skills and knowledge of tax laws.

Assist in the mentoring and training of junior associates or interns as needed.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; 1–2 years of relevant tax experience is a plus.

Required language(s): English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Possess good tax knowledge.

Good time management, planning and organising skills.

Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with people.

Good communication and written skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
