A leading company is seeking an Indirect Tax Analyst to manage tax returns and compliance for assigned countries. The role involves preparing tax documents, ensuring adherence to regulations, and developing professional relationships across Finance Operations. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Finance or Accounting and relevant experience in indirect tax.
Work Hour : Monday to Friday I 9.00am to 6.00pm
Contract Duration : 10 Months Contract ( possible for renewable)
Compulsory skill set(s)
i) Able to use Excel Advanced level,
ii) Read and write proficiency in Thai and English
Nice-to-have skill set(s) : SAP knowledge, Indirect Tax knowledge

Purpose:
Submit accurate and timely tax returns in accordance with the relevant local tax rules, regulations and generally accepted practices, within the deadlines set by them
Pay or effect payment of all tax liabilities on time and in the right amount, as shown on the tax return
Submit accurate and timely tax accounting information in accordance with local and Group accounting requirements
Closely engage with other processes to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities upon which tax payments/returns submissions are depends on
Accountabilities:
Prepare and execute accurate and timely tax returns, respective supporting documents required and tax payments
Develop professional working relationships with colleagues within the process and in the interface process across Finance Operations
Ensure effectiveness of operating controls and report all control incidences
Update work instructions as and when applicable and also at regular intervals as per Work Instruction's policy guidelines
Conduct variance analysis, reasonableness checks and reconciliations
Collate information for inquiries from external auditors and authorities
Support change management initiatives and contribute to successful go-live of tax migrations
Identify and implement opportunities to continuously improve processes
Comply to Shell Group records management & Information risk management procedures and manage the working papers and supporting documentation related to the tax returns
Perform SOAR analysis of tax accounts balances and ensure accuracy of balances as per required
Analyze and effectively manage end-to-end Indirect Tax risks and resolve complex, high impact, and non-routine issues by applying experience and knowledge of legislation, practices and procedures and communicate effectively to relevant stakeholders
Able to perform under tight deadline and ad-hoc request
Dimension:
Analyst of Indirect Tax Filing role is accountable for indirect tax filing & reporting for assigned countries.
Please note that the above is subject to changes and the incumbent maybe required to undertake other duties as assigned.
1. Indirect Taxation
Able to identify, propose, and drive implementation of sustainable solutions in the end-to-end MIT process for areas where tax laws and regulations cannot be met in current ERP systems due to changes and communicate effectively to relevant stakeholders
Able to analyze the impact on the control framework when making changes to the process and the way I work[KPS1] [SSSS2], ensuring controls, procedures and work instructions are updated accordingly
Able to analyze and effectively manage end-to-end Indirect Tax risks and resolve complex, high impact, and non-routine issues by applying experience and knowledge of legislation, practices and procedures and communicate effectively to relevant stakeholders
Able to analyze and apply interpretation of legislation changes and adapts to business models
Able to create and complete responses to governments relating to queries and audits (as and when required)
Able to identify and design sustainable solutions for areas to improve the E2E MIT process performance and/or interfaces with other parts of the E2E MIT process
2. Process and Data Management
Enthusiastic and proactive at engaging with colleagues on the power of metrics based disciplined operations, Continuous Improvement and Data Quality Assurance to drive Operational Excellence across E2E processes
Understands basics of Process and Data thinking and Continuous Improvement techniques and is able to advise colleagues on those
Manages day to day operations of a sub-process covering one or more location, system and/or organization (including staffing, competence and performance management)
Knows and uses the design and Standard Operating Procedures of the process they operate
Understands how their work and actions drive the E2E process and data performance
Leads effectively Process Performance reviews or Visual Management sessions for own area of responsibility
Proactively shares experiences (successful or not) to create an environment where Operational Excellence is valued and rewarded
3. Governance and Assurance
Understands in broad terms the governance (organization, roles, relationships, processes, standards) of own business area
Has a working knowledge of the main requirements of the Shell Control Framework and can advise on Shell’s incident reporting requirements
Defines and maintains manual of authorities for specific business area/legal entities
Manages specific assurance activities in support of management’s self-assessment, understands the relationships to the business objectives and associated risks
4. Business Performance Management
Understand that value creation (cash focus) within certain (risk) boundary conditions is the purpose of performance management
Articulate the rationale of current strategies based on the external and competitive environment. Knows the Group Scenarios and the role they play in development of strategy
Understand the purpose and key elements of the various planning processes (strategic, target setting and budgeting) at a country, business unit or Function level, and understands the relevant interfaces with the Group, other Businesses and Functions
Understand the process, organization and systems that deliver Management Information. Uses MI to analyze business results, identifies internal and external performance factors, as well as potential improvement opportunities
Aware of the key value drivers that drive performance improvement, including sales, working capital management (stocks, receivables and payables), cost, operational availability, and can describe the associated risks
Understand the key concepts of portfolio management, including organic and inorganic investments and divestment
5. Business Partnering
Keen understanding of key business drivers, current business priorities and critical issues of the Shell Business(es)/Function(s) with which they are involved
Articulates the value-add of Finance to the Business/Function
Practices effective advocacy and inquiry, uncovering implicit issues/needs
Knowledge of various influencing styles and impact of self in interpersonal relationships
Has understanding of critical relationships within business and function and whom to engage in various situations
Requirements :
Degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent Professional Qualification
Relevant experience in Indirect Tax Compliance and Reporting is preferred
Working experience of at least 3 years in accounting/indirect tax field
Working knowledge of MS Office (Advanced) is preferred
Working knowledge of SAP is preferred
Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications/Macro is welcomed
Results oriented, fast-paced, resourceful and proactive
Incumbent must be able to work under pressure with team members
